WTA is suspended for a year for misconduct

WTA Tour set to return to China in 2023 following suspension over Peng Shuai situation

World Tennis Association (WTA) has been suspended by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) following a ruling by the Committee for Tennis Professionals (CTP) governing body. This means that the WTA is not allowed to participate in ITF events until the suspension is lifted.

In a statement to reporters on Thursday, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) said that the decision means that the WTA’s return to the country can only happen if the suspension is overturned.
