Serena Williams’ legendary tennis career likely over after third-round singles’ play loss at US Open
Serena Williams’ stellar tennis career is likely over following her loss in a very tight final match to Caroline Wozniacki in the US Open semifinals, according to sports insider Dave Zirin.
The former #1 and #4 tennis player was beaten by a 6-4, 6-4 score in the third-round match in Flushing Meadows.
The 26-year-old Williams hasn’t won a Grand Slam singles title since last year’s Australian Open, where she was knocked out in the third round in back-to-back matches.
Williams was also knocked out of Wimbledon earlier this year, when she was beaten in the third round by fellow American Lauren Davis.
